At the time, the company indicated that production of the style would begin before early 2022. The Pomigliano d’Arco plant in Italy has recently managed the meeting of Fiat’s Panda subcompact SUV. However, Tonale does not base with the Panda. The initial plan was to use the Jeep Compass and Renegade platform, but as FCA merges with PSA Group (Peugeot Company Anonymous), the Tonale is expected to use PSA’s CMP platform, which supports models such as the DS 3 Crossback and the Opel Corsa. either sold in global markets. The platform can help electric vehicle propulsion systems, so it would be imaginable to electrify the new Tonale. A plug-in hybrid option is also provided for this.
The Alfa Romeo Tonale will be on models such as the Audi Q3, BMW X2 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, and represents a breakthrough for Alfa Romeo, who is desperate to increase his overall sales figures. Total sales in the United States were less than 20,000 games last year.
