ADRIAN – First-year head coach Emilie Beach earned her first win for Lenawee Christian women’s basketball Thursday when the Cougars beat Lansing Christian 44-34.
It was a slow start for Lenawee Christian (1-1) as the Cougars trailed 15-7 after the first quarter, but they made it back in the moment to take a 21-17 disadvantage at halftime.
Lenawee Christian controlled half as much, beating the Pilgrims 27-13.
Isabelle Kirkendall led the team with 10 points, 8 at the halftime.

MADISON TWP — The Trojans used a quarter-moment to pull away from Hillsdale for the win out of the championship.
After leading 16-11 after the first quarter, Madison (2-0) ruled the second, beating the Hornets 15-4 to take a 31-15 lead in the half.
Austin Burciaga, Dominic Regaldo and Mauricio Nieto have filled the stat sheet for Madison, who has had a wonderful start to the 2022-23 season.

SAND CREEK – The Aggies failed to earn their first win of the season, falling in a close game against non-league opponent Quincy.
Sand Creek (0-2) trailed 28-25 at halftime and tied it 39-37 before the fourth in a two-way game.
Rory Eack, Braylon Gartee and Trevor Opel reached double digits for the Aggies. Eack had a double-double with 12 rebounds to help with 3 hands.

Adrian at Chelsea
CHELSEA — The Maples women’s team took a 3-0 lead in the first week of the season after winning the Southeastern Conference White Division matchup.
Adrian’s women won 20-10 and swept the Baker Games to take a 10-point lead after winning through six pins combined. Then, the groups split the games of the normal season to give the victory to the Maples.
The men lost 23-7, with the Bulldogs narrowly winning 6-4 after splitting the Baker Games.
