Pre-owned Peugeot 5008 2017-present review

The 5008 is stylish, practical, and fun to drive – it’s one of the best-used used seven-seater SUVs you can buy.

Although this new Peugeot 5008 is a giant SUV, its previous edition was not as sleek and stylish. In fact, it took the form of a minivan.

However, this new edition from 2017 onwards is a great fortune and is now a wonderful second-hand purchase. With an improved riding position and rugged beauty, it may come as a surprise to learn that it seats up to seven people, making it very useful. for anyone with a developing family, and partly explains the extra durability compared to the same Peugeot 3008, but with five seats.

The 5008 stands out from its rivals, being unusually sublime for a car of this elegance and, indeed, among the most practical. As mentioned, seven seats are standard, those in the middle row are sliding and reclining, and the third row is more usable. than that of almaxim all competitors of comparable price. The trunk is also larger than the maximum.

Of course, it’s not enough to be smart and practical to be successful, and the 5008 does a smart job of offering all the essentials.

Engines: There’s a good range of engines, for one. Petrols can be had with a 128bhp 1.2-litre engine or a 163bhp 1.6-litre unit, while diesels are served by a 1.6-litre engine in 99bhp or 118bhp or a 2.0-litre version with 148bhp or 178bhp. Later versions added a 128bhp 1.5-litre diesel, with commendable performance and fuel economy. The 5008 is strictly front-wheel drive, but you can have an automatic gearbox as an option.

Trim and equipment: Trim levels start with Active, which comes with forced windows, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and wipers and much more, while the next step, Allure, offers a satellite navigation system, a rear end. Navigation system. -Camera display, 18-inch alloy wheels and privacy windows. The GT and GT Premium models feature larger wheels, sporty interior trim and a panoramic glass sunroof, although it’s worth noting that this restricts headroom in the rear somewhat.

Handling and handling: On the highway, every engine pushes the 5008 in one go, even the 1. 2 gasoline, which feels oddly sleek and eager to accelerate and live up to the carrying characteristics of a fully loaded car. The gas-powered 1. 6 adds more spirit, but at the expense of fuel economy. The 1. 6 and 2. 0 diesel engines also get along well, with plenty of growling at low revs, while the 178bhp edition is lively.

In the corners, the 5008 also performs quite well, with quick steering, plenty of grip and a confident and predictable handling, albeit with a more angled frame than one or two of its rivals. The car also drives well thanks to a fairly supple suspension; It’s only on the larger 19-inch wheels of some higher-end versions that the 5008 begins to notice the bumps and irregularities of the road all too vividly.

In addition, the 5008 is a very subtle car and proves to be more productive on highways, where wind and road noise are well contained, with low engine noise. The car also runs well with an automatic gearbox, adding an extra air of fluidity to the proceedings.

Interior & Practicality: The interior is impressive and solidly built, with a perfect riding position and intelligent visibility. The fabrics are stunning, with soft-touch fabrics worn where you see and interact the most, with chrome top lights and modern fabric inserts adding a touch of style. The 5008 follows Peugeot’s design philosophy of mounting its tools at the top of the dashboard, above the eyeline of the small guide wheel. It works well here, as does the layout of the primary and secondary controls, the temperature you want to adjust on the touchscreen and it’s an occasional annoyance.

There’s more smart news in terms of seating area and flexibility of the 5008. Rear passengers will be satisfied if they sit on long trips of three and in the third row there are two folding seats that are suitable for youth or small adults for short trips. The trunk is huge with all the seats folded down and still very large with the second-row seats raised. There’s still a small amount of space even with the third-row seats raised.

The 5008 was revamped and revamped in 2020. On the outside, there were new LED headlights and taillights, a redesigned “frameless” grille, and styling called the 5008 moved just above the grille.

Inside, the length of the center-mounted infotainment touchscreen has been increased from 8. 0 inches to 10. 0 inches (on Allure trim). Mirroring AppleCarPlay and Android Auto smartphones is popular across the range. The 12. 3-inch “iCockpit” virtual tool cluster has been updated to make it clearer and less difficult to read than before, and its new graphics are sharper and more readable at a glance.

The smooth and punchy nature of the 1.2 petrol engine would get our vote, because it combines decent fuel economy and performance, as well as a good dollop of refinement. We’d try to seek out a car in Allure trim, since it features most things you’d need on Active trim plus niceties you’d really want.
