Porsche has introduced internal research into the old gasoline engines on “manipulations” in the 911 and Panamera.
German publication Bild am Sonntag first announced the news on Sunday and Porsche showed internal research with Roadshow.
“Porsche frequently reviews the technical and regulatory facets of its vehicles. The company also conducts reviews of potential problems. This is an expression of a functional formula of internal control measures and our corporate culture,” a spokesman said in a statement.
Details of what “manipulations” mean are not available, although the language suggests that emissions problems may be ongoing. Porsche has just stated in revisions like this that the focus is on “specific hardware and software used in certification testing”.
“In some cases, these factors may also differ from the parts used in popular vehicles,” he added.
The automaker that research is not afraid of cars lately in production.
