Drivers could be paying as much as £335 over the odds for car insurance if they own one of the most popular family vehicles, research by MoneySuperMarket has revealed.
An examination through value comparison revealed that the Skoda Yeti had the cheapest average annual insurance value of 282 euros, compared to the 617 euros of a Volkswagen Golf, which has the maximum insurance claims for all cars.
The average cost to secure a circle of family vehicles is 472 euros for all vehicles with rear and family doors.
But MoneySuperMarket found that none of the cheapest brands and models were at the top of ten sensitives in the popular top circle of family cars.
And this has led to the consideration that other people might not look at the cost of insurance when opting for their car.
According to the study, Tesla Model-X is the estimated maximum circle of family cars to be insured in the total country, costing on average 1125 euros more according to the year than the Skoda Yeti at 1407 euros.
Dave Merrick, car insurance manager at MoneySuperMarket, said: “If you’re looking to buy a new car, it’s worth expanding the cost of insurance before you spend it on a purchase.
“Our knowledge shows that the most popular cars in each region are not necessarily the ones that are offering the maximum productive insurance premiums. In fact, it’s the opposite: the most popular cars tend to have particularly high insurance costs.
“Many points should be taken into account when opting for a family car and, in order to reduce prices and keep your finances under control, buying food will help you find the most productive offer.”
