Police request speed camera after teenage cyclist killed in collision with car

A man has died following a collision between a cyclist and a cyclist in Gloucester on Saturday night.

Police were called to Castlemeads Way shortly before 9. 15pm. following a report of a collision between a dark blue Volkswagen Golf and a black pedal bike.

Despite the efforts of the population and emergency services, the 18-year-old cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His relatives have been informed.

A 23-year-old man from Newent has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and is recently in police custody.

Investigators should listen to anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police or does not have onboard camera footage of what happened.

The road was closed while the emergency remained in place and has since been lifted.
