A guy from Paramus was arrested Thursday afternoon after police said he crossed a closed road, endangering several workers, and then tried to flee while an officer was clinging to his vehicle.
Sang Lee, 24, ignored police commandos to avoid a segment of Closter Dock Road that was shut down for road repairs, according to Lt. Vincent Aiello. Construction personnel were forced to dodge Lee’s car as they passed.
Officers later discovered it at a fuel station on Piermont Road, Aiello said. But authorities said Lee refused to get his license and got out of his vehicle.
When officers tried to get him out of the car, Lee tried to get away while an officer was clinging to the driver’s door, according to Aiello. After police stopped Lee’s car, he continued to arrest, police said.
Lee is charged with an annoying attack on a police officer, car attack, ring road and arrest resistance. He sent him back to the Bergen County Jail pending a hearing.
