Police identify Sabattus subject killed in crash on Friday

SABATTUS – Police have learned that the guy who died in a two-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon was Jason Cyr, 40, from Sabattus.

Police said Cyr’s death had an effect when his Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling east on Grove Street, turned a corner and became a westbound subaru Impreza on Crowley Road driven through 41-year-old Lisbon Falls’ Angela St. Amant.

Cyr’s motorcycle hit the front of St. Amant’s car and ended up on the pavement, bleeding profusely from a leg injury and other injuries. Several passers-by stopped to rescue as police and rescue groups were on their way.

St. Amant and his 6-year-old daughter, well dressed in seat belts at the time of the accident, were taken to Maine Central Medical Center for a non-life-threatening injury test. They were later released.

Police said Cyr was traveling at top speed. He’s not wearing a helmet.

A segment of Crowley Road closed when investigators from Sabattus, Lewiston, the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department and maine State Police tested the crash site.

On Saturday morning, flowers and other items were placed in the accident reminiscent of Cyr.
