Police are searching for witnesses after a child was seriously injured in a twist of fate in Newton Abbot on Monday morning.
Devon and Cornwall Police are looking for witnesses to a twist of fate between a pedestrian child and a car. Officers attended the scene of the Queensway crash in Newton Abbot at approximately 8:05 a. m.
The road was closed while police dealt with the incident. A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police told DevonLive: “Police were called today at 8. 05am with an ambulance at Queensway, Newton Abbot, following a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian child. .

“An 11-year-old boy suffered an ankle injury described as life-threatening, but not life-threatening. He was taken to the hospital. The road has since reopened. “
The twist of fate involved a Skoda Yeti and a young pedestrian. The boy was treated at the scene and then taken to Torbay District Hospital.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at around 8am on Monday 10 October 2022, for a fate turn report involving a Skoda Yeti and a pedestrian child. An 11-year-old boy treated at the scene and taken to Torbay District Hospital with a potentially life-changing leg injury.
“The Devon and Cornwall Road Police Team and the South West Ambulance Service witnessed the collision. Queensway in Newton Abbot closed for about an hour to allow for medical treatment, a police investigation and recovery of the vehicle.
“Traffic police team officers ask any witnesses to the incident to approach and touch the police by bringing in newspaper 107 from October 10, 2022. “
