Plan new houses for the old London taxi on Holyhead Road

Developers have submitted a new offer to build new homes in the old London Taxi production on Holyhead Road in Coventry.

An earlier plan for 107 homes on the abandoned wasteland was withdrew in March due to considerations of the lack of open areas and affordable housing.

Revised plans cover 95 “high quality” homes offering “more spacious gardens,” “larger gardens and more gardens,” the applicant said.

However, affordable housing is not included.

The offer will be presented jointly through asset developer Persimmon Homes and owners Broyonie Developments Ltd and Tegama Ltd, and a resolution is expected through the City Council until September.

In a statement of plans, they said: “Candidates continued to paint in combination to propose a high-quality comprehensive redevelopment program for which redevelopment is assigned to the adopted Coventry Local Plan.

“The construction of the old factory is unoccupied lately, and the proposals here point to a positive redevelopment that will benefit the area.”

The program includes 18 two-bed houses, 30 three-bed houses, 11 four-bed houses and 36 two-bed apartments; and also includes 157 parking areas and 36Array bikes

The existing adjacent BMW will also be expanded to allow them to buy more vehicles.

The 3.92 hectares have been partially unoccupied since the london Taxi exit, when it transferred the maximum of its operations to its new three hundred million pounds at Ansty Park in 2017.

The land was then reserved for 110 homes in the local council plan, but the drawing documents show that the 95-home plan can be taller up to 30 in a long-term “second phase” application.

Coventry City Council planners approved an independent application to demolish previous production in April.

An important point for housing allocation would be opened from Holyhead Road, which is already identified as Coventry’s most polluted road due to existing traffic problems.

To ease traffic, Coventry City Council plans to open Upper Hill Street to create a new ring road.

However, this domain is also subject to another main housing plan by developer Complex Development Projects, which has submitted plans for 731 apartments and 711 square meters of advertising and advertising proficiency at the former National Grid on Abbotts Lane.
