The redevelopment of the Cedarwood Inn and Suites site in Sydney is about to become a reality.
Sydney council has given three readings to an amendment to the proposed coastal progression law that provides for 49 apartments and 48 townhouses on the motel site.
GMC Projects proposed a three-story construction with 49 apartments and advertising area on the ground floor, as well as 8 buildings containing a total of 48 2. 5-story townhomes at 9522 Lochside Dr. , near Tulista Park.
The apartment construction would consist of 18 one-bedroom sets, 17 two-bedroom sets and 14 3-bedroom sets. Forty of the townhouses would have 3 bedrooms and 8 would have two.
The allocation was reduced to 97 houses and 3 stories instead of five stories and 140 houses in reaction to community feedback.
The allocation will be submitted to the Department of Transport and Infrastructure for review, as Lochside Drive is a provincial road and is expected to go back to council for approval on March 25.
