The original Mercedes-Benz G-Class has sat around for 4 decades and has gained several updates over the years to keep it up to date. After redesigning it for the 2019 style year, it seems that the automaker will at least provide regular updates to the existing edition. just like its predecessor.
We’ve already seen prototypes for an updated edition of the popular G-Class, and now we have spy photos of prototypes for AMG’s updated G 63. Prototypes for either are also shown in the video below. Both editions of the G-Class are expected to debut early next year as 2023 models.
Judging by the camouflage apparatus of the G 63 prototype, the vehicle will get a revised fairing with what appear to be active fins at the front. While the overall shape of the grille remains unchanged, a revised trend is expected.
The dashboard covered, which also suggests some internal adjustments. A key internal update is expected to be the addition of the latest edition of Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system.
The G 63 is powered through an intelligent 4. 0-liter twin-turbo V8 that generates 577 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. While AMG has just introduced a plug-in hybrid powertrain, this V-8 is shaped like the GT 63 S E Pershapeance. 4-door coupe and S 63 E Pershapeance, don’t expect the G 63 to pass the plug-in hybrid route. Just now.
A more likely bet is the incorporation of the mild hybrid formula already presented with the 4. 0-liter V8 in some Mercedes models. The formula includes an electric motor capable of adding a transient power of 21 hp and 184 lb-ft. The powertrain is planned for the G-Class, but may not arrive until 2024.
A repeat of the 4×4 Squared option with gantry axes was also added to the diversity of the G63 overseas this year, the availability of this option in the U. S. and the availability of this option in the U. S. and Canada. The U. S. government has yet to be announced.
Stay tuned for updates as it continues.
