Peugeot has unveiled a variety of rugged-looking XP400 models called Allure and GT (matching the trim grades of its cars), which will launch in 2023 as the French company’s largest two-wheeled scooter, and it’s evident that they’ve been inspired. from Honda’s Honda X-ADV SUV-style family.
Both are powered by a 400cc single-cylinder that produces a declared maximum force of 36. 7 hp and 28 lb-ft of torque, figures higher than those presented by rivals BMW C400X, Honda ADV350 and Suzuki Burgman 400.
In order to maneuver this state-of-the-art power and torque, Peugeot has supplied scooters with a 17-inch motorcycle-style front wheel, with GT-style tensioned spokes. It’s a length not found on any of Peugeot’s direct rivals. scooters, forcefully grounded via a 15-inch rear wheel, rear-spoke in the GT style, carrying a giant 160-section tire.
Bumps and bumps are smoothed through a pair of strong 41mm inverted forks, while the rear has a hydraulic spring setup combined with the double surprise systems of other scooters. Once again, Peugeot has opted for a vehicle that performs well off the beaten track.
To avoid the 231kg XP, there are two 295mm discs at the front, a feature found in the Suzuki Burgman, while other brands opt for a single small-diameter disc.
A single 240mm disc is located at the rear, with dual-channel ABS and traction component of the popular configuration.
Elsewhere, you get a giant color TFT display with a tachometer and an analog-style speedometer surrounding a good-sized display that transmits other information. The TFT display has full connectivity and is a step ahead of third-party LCD sets or optional TFT extras.
Illumination is provided via LEDs around, with two traffic light strips on the side of the headlights. The rear has the same taste as the recently announced PM-01 motorcycle, with 3 vertical stripes representing the brand’s lion logo. The brake lighting fixtures are also two “lion’s claw” LEDs from side to side, which is a great stylistic touch.
There’s also a USB port and a garage in the saddle large enough for a full-face helmet, as well as a compartment facing the saddle. The XP400 Allure will cost £7249 and the GT £7349, at least £250 more than its next closest rival, the £6,999 Suzuki Burman.
