An agreement has been reached to take the French car manufacturer Peugeot to a commercial and logistical allocation at St Modwen in Avonmouth.

Occupying a 44,640-foot unit in a ten-year lease, Peugeot will operate a warehouse distribution facility at St Modwen Park Access 18 Avonmouth.

Peugeot is one of the car brands owned by the PSA Group, the largest car manufacturer in Europe.

Other activities in the park come with Ocado Retail, Hermes Parcelnet, Nisbets and medical care distributor Movianto. Once completed, the progression is expected to create more than 2,200 jobs.

Peter Davies, Director of Development at St. Modwen Industrial – Logistics, said: “Peugeot’s requirement for a high-quality, well-placed and flexible area has made St. Modwen Park Access 18 an herbal selection for its business.

“The main players attracted from the commercial and logistics sector and the proximity of Access 18 with the 18th union of the M5 proved interesting.

The co-agents of the project are Andrew Ridler of Alder King and Russell Crofts of Knight Frank.

Ridler added, “We are pleased to have discovered a tenant of this caliber at St. Modwen Park Access 18 and we expect the occupants to stay to their liking because of the confidence we have in the commercial and logistics market in the area.”

Barnwood Construction, from Gloucester, the contractors appointed to Unit 18 and also brought Units 19 and 20 into Phase 5.
