Staff at John Clark Motor Group’s Pentland Land Rover dealership in Perth were ordered to self-isolate and thoroughly clean the facility after 3 team members tested COVID-19.
The Perth Courier newspaper reported that workers at the Dunkeld Road dealership and arming shop remained remote after the site temporarily closed last Thursday (August 20).
A fitness board spokesman told the paper that one member and two contractors tested positive for coronavirus.
“There is a rapid reaction to instances that included extensive testing of other company-related people and a detailed contact search is underway. All nearby contacts were asked to isolate themselves for 14 days, the spokesman added.
Concessionaire Pentland Land Rover reopened on Friday 21 August and an upcoming inspection through environmental officials concluded that “the processes in place were satisfactory.”
A spokesperson for John Clark Motor Group told the Courier that the AM100 organization had focused on protecting the health, well-being and protection of its customers, colleagues and the general public, in line with Scottish government guidelines.
Despite these efforts, he showed that a subcontracted worker had developed mild symptoms of the virus and had since tested positive for coronavirus.
Another undertreated worker and some other colleagues also tested positive and all three self-insulated without delay, the spokesman said, adding that a thorough cleanliness and disinfection of the entire site, a procedure and the provision of adequate staff for extended staff were tested. COVID-19 contingency plans.”
In an interview with AM at the height of the closure of COVID-19 in April, John Clark, president of the Aberdeen-based John Clark Motor Group, described the procedure for drawing up plans for his group to return to the closure of COVID-19 as “pressing the reset button”.
“CoVID’s scenario has led us to prevent and re-evaluate how we completed each of our concession processes,” he said at the time, adding that a non-public device (PPE) had already been purchased from staff and consumers before a prospective reopening, which would possibly arrive at the end of June.
“We are willing to reopen the industry and you can’t reduce the costs of protection and fitness,” he added.
