Pentagon Motor Group has achieved “significant” first successes with China’s BYD since taking over the franchise last year.
The dealer organization expects to adopt the logo at some of its locations.
The Pentagon Motor Village in Lincoln is now home to BYD, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Mazda and soon Renault and Dacia.
David Peel, chief executive of the Pentagon, which is part of the U. K. ‘s Motus group, said the dealership sold 60 cars in the first full month of operation.
“I went to the Munich Motor Show last year, specifically to research BYD, and came away very impressed. They were the stars of the show for many people I talked to, having invested in securing a major presence.
The Chinese giant aimed to have around 27 stores operational by the end of 2023 and plans to open up to 50 more concessions in the first part of 2024. The company also recently announced the opening of its first European production facility in Szeged, Hungary.

Throughout its presence in the Midlands and North, Pentagon Motor Group now has around 64 franchises in 31 locations, covering passenger and light advertising vehicles with 18 brands.
