Penske Truck Leasing brought the remote registration service to your Penske Driver mobile app. The new feature of the Penske Driver app allows advertising truck drivers to maximize their social distance by remotely registering their autocellulars for preventive maintenance or scheduled cellular app maintenance.
“This new addition to the Penske Driver app is a component of our ongoing efforts to help consumers and their drivers stay connected, safe and informed,” said Sherry Sanger, executive vice president of marketing at Penske Transportation Solutions. “Drivers will appreciate the speed and convenience and additional social distance offered by this new remote recording feature.”
In addition to the new service registration feature, Penske places outdoor affiliates in many places to accommodate and direct consumers to designated parking bodies or pickup areas. Penske also claimed that it had replaced its rental, pick-up and delivery procedures and had increased the point and frequency of disinfection of cars and facilities.
The Penske Driver app has been developed for customers to rent full-service trucks, contract maintenance and rental of advertising trucks. Launched in 2017, the Penske Drive app also allows truck drivers to:

The quest for technological merit has been part of the Mesilla Valley fabric for nearly 40 years. The carrier was one of the first to adopt aerodynamic technologies, and mpg savings related to these advances have contributed to fleet expansion.
Royal Jones, owner of Mesilla Valley Transportation (MVT), has been a strong supporter of how generation can reshape and improve truck fleets. In the 1980s, Jones sought his own wind tunnel to verify aerodynamic generation on MVT trucks. But a wind tunnel was too expensive for the young truck company of the time. Instead, you just discovered a big hill in New Mexico.
Jones and his people began driving “the pickup trucks downhill, and that’s what taught them a lot about some of the benefits of aerodynamics, and as they went down that hill, it gave them a steady pleasure in aerodynamics.” Mike Kelley, who has been MVT’s Chief Technology Officer since 2001, told FleetOwner.
The pursuit of this technological merit has been part of the Mesilla Valley fabric for nearly 40 years. The carrier was one of the first to adopt aerodynamic technologies such as skirts and tails and super undeniable tires. The mpg savings that have accompanied this progress have helped the park succeed in more than 1,500 units of strength. (Located at 82 of the FleetOwner For-Hire 500 2020.)
“Our project is consistently toArray,” Kelley said. “We observe the inefficiencies or demanding situations and use generation in our processes within our company and in the truck. In the truck itself, owner Royal Jones, his design team and MVT purchasing managers are reading the generation for fleet performance.
In the late 1nine80s, Mesilla Valley averaged more than 7 mph, a statistic that made many other fleet owners become skeptical, Kelley noted. But those days, thanks to more generation and concentration, MVT averages nine mpg. The company focuses on small profits that lead to giant savings.
“Royal can tell you how only one-tenth of an mpg upgrade can have an effect on our daily and annual back line, even considering the fuel load. That’s what led us to be a leader in fuel economy.” Kelley said.
The latest implementation of MVT Platform Science, which the fleet related to Drivewyze PreClear. “With Platform Science, we can leverage our expertise and the things we need to track and use the cloud to temporarily make micro changes through Platform Science,” Kelley said. “We were able to turn on Drivewyze PreClear without delay with the platform. It’s as undeniable as saying ‘please turn it on’.'”

The transformation of Drivewyze to avoid weighing stations, the shift from transponder-based generation to the generation that uses cellular knowledge, has had a massive effect on the fleet. The generation also provides drivers with a two-mile warning before the truck arrives, which Kelley says has reduced the number of missing weighing stations for MVT drivers.
“We went from anything that would give us a soft green or a soft red for detours to one that provides us with only detours, but data and knowledge about our functionality and how diversion of weighing stations benefits our business,” he said. “Drivewyze is a generation company, and we give you a price as a partner, supplier. Like us, they take credit for their generation and think out of the box. We like it.
Because PreClear doesn’t use a transponder, reassigned drivers don’t have to worry about moving a transponder to a new vehicle. And Drivewyze’s knowledge shows that MVT drivers perform an average of 15 detours per month. “This has stored us a lot of time and fuel, all documented,” Kelley said. “The mere saving of time, with the advent of ELDs and the synchronization of the drivers, makes the omission even more important.”
Kelley said he is in the procedure of activating Drivewyze protection notifications, which provide alerts in the upper turn spaces, low bridges and mountain alerts (pronounced slopes, brake check spaces and out-of-control ramps).
“It’s more about bringing drivers to life,” Kelley added, noting that what’s smart for drivers can be wonderful for the fleet.
