Penske deploys battery truck with Core-Mark

The Class 8 electric vehicle is located at Penske’s Ontario, California facility, and is used through Core-Mark to ship between 13,000 and 18,000 pounds of food and beverages to convenience retail outlets outside of Los Angeles, California. Running about 130 miles 4 days a week, the heavy electric vehicle makes 10 to 12 stops per day.

“It’s exciting and rewarding to see our consumers start with those cutting-edge electric cars in their operations,” said Paul Rosa, senior vice president of procurement and fleet planning at Penske Truck Leasing. “We are all learning together from the multitude of use cases in which we have implemented electric cars and the use of the vehicle through Core-Mark provides data that will undoubtedly bring some other point of understanding to our industry.”
