Automakers are constantly looking to outperform others with larger displays, better user interfaces, and more complex security capabilities. According to a new study conducted by JD Power, not all of those modern features are popular with buyers.
The study company listed 82,527 new vehicle owners in the 2020 style year to compile their next-generation delight index. The index measures the effectiveness with which automotive brands bring new technologies to market, assessing the degree to which they are adopting new features and how consumers get them.
JD Power found that while buyers like to see more camera perspectives, they don’t like internal gesture controls and don’t accept driving force assist functions as true.
JD Power ranked brands based on their scores, and thirteen of them were above average. Unsurprisingly, the most sensitive places were governed by luxury companies, however, several more brands also made a difference. Volvo dominated the overall ranking.
Tesla’s score would have lowered it to the place of the time, however, the company only allowed JD Power to investigate homeowners in 35 states instead of the country, so it was not officially included on the list.
