Ossia, the author of Cota® Real Wireless Power ™, has developed a strategic partnership with a world-renowned manufacturer, Toyoda Gosei, to create wireless devices covering vertical markets such as automotive, IoT, smart cities, etc.

Ossia Inc. (“Ossia”), a Washington state company, announced a new partnership with Toyota Group Toyoda Gosei. This partnership includes an industrial agreement and a strategic investment in Ossia through Toyoda Gosei.

Ossia is the author of Cota Real Wireless Power, a patented and award-winning generation designed to deliver air force, without cables, chargers or line of sight. Cota can also be used safely on the move, adding shipping vehicles such as advertising fleets, trucks, cars, trains and planes. Similarly, as the call for intelligent planning plans continues to grow, Cota’s wireless force is the generation selected to force the millions of IoT sensors and devices enabled through the upcoming 5G deployment.

Toyoda Gosei came out as Toyota Motor’s rubber study and progression division, and was installed independently seventy years ago. Since then, it has become a global company that studies, develops and manufactures high-quality automotive products such as cab modules, guide wheels and airbag systems for automotive brands around the world. With annual revenues close to US$8.0 billion, Toyoda Gosei creates a diversity of products in other vertical markets. Headquartered in Japan, it is the only Toyota Group company specializing in plastics and rubber products, with operations in the Americas, China, Asia, Europe and Africa. Toyota Group is one of Japan’s largest corporations with annual revenues of more than US$275 billion.

The partnership includes an investment in Ossia, advertising projects and other strategic parties involving wireless energy for cars, smart cities, customer applications, IoT, etc. Toyoda Gosei has also recently invested in synthetic intelligence and robotics companies.

“It’s an exciting time,” says Doug Stovall, Ossia’s revenue director. “This partnership will not only help promote the use of wireless energy for programs within the automotive industry, but will also lead to other inventions with wireless technology that can be exploited in a variety of commercial, customer and IoT uses.”

Stovall added: “We are very happy to have a spouse with another global leader committed to exploring how wireless force will help and advance daily life in our communities, adding to the automotive sector. The products make sense in many ways, adding for convenience, urban creation plans and safety, by calling a few.”

Ossia has closed many strategic relationships in the last few years to advance wireless power applications within the transportation, smart cities, IoT, battery, smart retail and asset/logistics tracking verticals. The momentum and demand of wireless power continues to grow globally. Japan is a leading market for wireless power innovation and expects regulatory approvals within 2020.

“This is a vital investment and collaboration for Toyoda Gosei that will lead to further progress not only for our products, but also for the global transportation formula as a total, as well as inventions in the smart city space,” says Takashi Ishikawa, Director and Head of Research and Development Headquarters at Toyoda Gosei. “We are thrilled to work with Ossia on this revolutionary wireless power technology.”

More recently, Ossia has won two FCC certifications for Cota wireless power generation programs. Ossia also won the CES 2019 Innovation Awards in the Wireless Devices, Accessories and Services category for the Cota Forever Case and a finalist for the 2019 Edison Award. The 5.8 GHz Cota wireless power generation will be licensed.
