After the arrival of its midsize Lyriq model, Cadillac plans to launch a smaller vehicle. Called the Optiq, our contacts at GM have shown that it’s targeting the Canadian market and may only come with all-wheel drive and various battery options.

This last couple of main points comes from the specifications found for Optiq in overseas markets; We hope that at least the biggest battery will make it to this side of the pond. According to reports abroad, some regions will have the option to choose between a 68. 4 kWh or 79. 7 kWh battery depending on the edition and number of equipments. Total diversity in the infinitely positive verification cycles in this part of the world, diversity of 536 km and six hundred km, respectively.

Back in North America, we’ll learn that the Optiq shares the wheelbase measurements of the Chevrolet Blazer EV, an available device with a GM-estimated maximum range of 521 km in the rear-wheel-drive RS trim. The same will be true for the Lyriq in our marketplace when more top points are released later this year.

While the specs uncovered this week are for Optiq styles destined for the Chinese market, it’s worth taking note of, as they’re probably not all different from the versions destined for North America. A variant of the popular line is supplied. With this 68. 4 kWh battery, a unit that combines a front motor that makes 241 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h will be in the diversity of 7. 0 seconds. Meanwhile, the Long-Diversity style uses the 79. 7 kWh battery and features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive formula that makes 283 horsepower and 343 lb-ft of torque. Expect the additional force and traction to decrease to one hundred km/h in less than six seconds.

In terms of features and content, the electric Caddy featured a 33-inch curved display in its cabin, a jumbotron that will likely share a lot with a screen of the same size on other Cadillac models like the XT4. This shows an XT4 so supplied last month and I found the display to be very sharp, responsive and makes perfect use of all the virtual space. If other bugs that plagued the Blazer EV immediately after its release have been sufficiently eliminated, the Optiq deserves to have a lovely cabin to enjoy. the miles across.

The design branch has merged elements of the Lyriq and Escalade IQ into the Optiq, with a front façade featuring a black shield-like glass surrounded on three sides by more than a hundred integrated lighting fixtures. Headlights and hours of sunlight extend vertically. Along the front like mascara, while the rear is ruled by a set of imposing taillights that are oddly forked in the same way as on the electric Escalade.

Look for more highlights about Optiq later this year, before kids leave school for summer break.
