Opel to this Rocks E-Xtreme designed by fans

The winning design of the festival was Lukas Wenzhöfer, a student at the School of Design at the University of Pforzheim in Germany, who devised the Rocks e-xtreme. Wenzhöfer created its concept in 2021 and we presented it at the time. We were inspired by the artistic thinking of the young designer and, of course, Opel was also inspired.

The adjustments to the popular Rocks-e are excessive, to say the least. For starters, Wenzhöfer supplied the quadricycle with a double-wishbone suspension at the front that allows the wheels to separate from the rest of the vehicle. The exclusive wheels are also wrapped in off-road tyres and the Opel’s overall handling height has also been increased.

Design adjustments continue with the installation of a tubular frame in the cabin that also houses some headlights and a reinforced two-plane rear spoiler with finishing plates.

“The Opel Rocks-e allows other young people to be mobile phones and enjoy a driving experience without filters,” said the 26-year-old designer. “My concept takes those problems and takes them to the extreme. The off-road capability promotes the feeling of freedom to succeed in any destination. And greater sportiness promises more driving excitement to show that electric mobility is more than a common-sense solution.

As part of the Rocks-e Design Hack concept, the automaker will build an exclusive example of the Rocks E-xtreme, but has yet to say when it will be ready.
