Ola Electric has big plans for electric mobility. The Bangalore-based EV manufacturer is already making lavish sums of money from the diversity of S1 electric scooters and intends to expand its two-wheeler diversity with many more models in the future. In addition to scooters, Ola Electric will also enter the electric motorcycle segment.
The company has several ideas, but until recently no concrete advances have appeared online. Ola has filed several patents in the country, adding new electric motorcycles. In the most recent patent journals published in India, Ola Electric has filed three new patents for electric motorcycles.
Some time ago, Ola unveiled an electric motorcycle concept with the M1 Cyber Racer at Ola’s annual visitor day held last year. The most recent patents filed through Ola resemble the Cyber Racer concept. The 3 models would possibly mean another 3 interpretations of the Cyber Racer. All 3 interpretations demonstrate visual distinctions to distinguish them, as shown in the patent photographs.
The patent with the thinnest tire and basic alloy wheel design is probably the maximum base model. It comes with a rear wheel hub-mounted motor, a very basic box-style swingarm, and two surprise shocks. This variant features a biker design language with sharp wrinkles and a one-piece flat seat.
The other two patents highlight the sportier models, either for their stance or for their looks. In fact, both motorcycles appear to have the same set of components, adding the swingarm, powertrain, suspension, fake fuel tank, and wheels. In fact, most of the panels between those two models appear to be percentage-based. However, there are differences that set them apart.
For starters, one comes with a single-seat configuration while the other benefits from a classic two-seat configuration. Also, the ergonomics are different: the single-seat edition has a higher, flatter handlebar, while the two-seat style comes with a lowered handlebar, likely for hooking.
Also, the battery cooling on those two motorcycles looks different, on one of the models it turns out to be built into a fake sump guard with a small trapezoidal frame at the rear of the battery. The front panels are different, one of them is bolder. than the other with more layers. All 3 interpretations of the M1 Cyber Racer feature an RSU telescopic front fork and a Flat Tracker headlight package.
