Ferrari has had a complicated start to the season in Formula One 2020, but what exactly is wrong?
The lack of functionality with his SF1000 car left the team in trouble for the first 3 rounds of the season, with the Scuderia falling to fifth in the constructors’ championship standings.
The Italian team has been forced to conduct a primary review of their 2020 car after failures discovered since the first pre-season test in Barcelona in February.
But so far, a revised update package has failed to produce the desired effects and Ferrari is still looking to perceive its concept after taking the wrong aerodynamic direction during the winter.
Ferrari’s difficulties have led President John Elkann to admit that the team expects to be competitive in F1 until a primary regulatory replacement in 2022.
“This year we are competitive due to car design errors,” Elkann said.
“We have had a number of structural weaknesses that have existed for some time in the aerodynamics and dynamics of the vehicle.We’ve lost engine power.
“The truth is that our car is competitive. You’ve noticed her on the track and you’ll see her again.
“Today we are laying the groundwork to be competitive and return to victory when regulations replace in 2022.I’m convinced of that.
