Despite this, families will meet with family members at Newcastle care centres “as soon as possible,” the city’s public fitness leader promised.

That’s all that’s left of a wall after a car crashed into it, before the occupants fled.
The wall, on a quiet street in Fenham, was partially demolished after Ford Ka hit him on Saturday afternoon.
The owner’s car also appears to have been the victim of the accident, which occurred on the corner of Silver Lonnen and Hesleyside Drive.
Police said the occupants fled the scene on foot, while citizens told ChronicleLive that sniffer dogs had been used to keep an eye on them.
Since then, a 16-year-old has been arrested.
A Northumbria police spokesman said; “At 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, we won a report that a vehicle had been stopped on the orders of officials in the domain of Newcastle’s Yewcroft Avenue.
“Soon after, officials discovered that the blue Ford Ka had crashed into Silver Lonnen and that the occupants had moved away from the scene. Fortunately, no one was injured.
“A domain search was conducted and police arrested a 16-year-old boy suspected of being transported in a motor vehicle removed without his consent.
“He has since been released from the investigation.
“Investigations are underway for the other parties involved.”

More than 200 drivers have been caught breaking the speed limit at the Metrocentre and Team Valley Trading Estate in a single day.
Northumbria police revealed unexpected figures after conducting a hasty operation, fearing that buyers would put others at risk.
Officers monitored the two Gateshead sites on Sunday as a component of Operation Odeon and caught 223 drivers who broke the speed restriction with two drivers on the roadside side.
PC David Gaut of the Metrocentre Neighborhood Police Team said part of the exposed driving is “completely irresponsible.”
He said: “We have had a spike in the number of reports to us of irresponsible driving around the retail estates at the Metrocentre and Team Valley.
“This comes off the back of an increase in shoppers in the area as the lockdown restrictions we have lived through in recent months are relaxed.
“Some of the examples of driving we witnessed on Sunday were completely irresponsible and a number of drivers will be appearing in court as a result.”

The police are for a guy they need to communicate with about a serious attack in County Durham.
The incident happened in Gilling Crescent, Darlington, at around 6.30pm and left the victim with serious injuries after he was attacked with a knife.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough for treatment, where he remains in solid state.
Four men arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail.
However, the police would like Aaron Drummond to tell him about the attack.
Detective Inspector Craig Rudd of the Darlington CID said he had the idea to help Drummond avoid the police.
He said: “It is vital that these other people know that helping an alleged offender is an illegal crime and that they will be prosecuted.”
“I’m inspired by data about your current location to touch us as soon as possible.”
Aaron, 21, is described as white, narrow-length with short, soft brown hair and about five feet 7 inches tall.

An alleged gunman is in custody after a raid on a Newcastle station.
At about 7.45pm on Friday (July 17) police received a report of an armed robbery at the petrol station on Hillhead Parkway in Chapel House.
He reported that a masked guy walked into the store and threatened a staff member with an alleged firearm.
The guy who worked at the store refused to deliver and the suspect fled the store empty-handed.
The staff member was not injured in the incident.
Emergency attended the scene and searched the area, but was unable to locate the suspect.
But now police have revealed that a 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of exhausting the armed raid.
Police are now hunting to insinuate a “distinctive” car that was noticed in the area.
Detective Inspector Mark Atherton, of Northumbria Police, said: “This must have been a terrifying incident for the staff member and I am just glad they were not injured in any way.
‘They checked to get the suspect out of the suspect and contacted the police immediately, however, the suspect had left the scene before we arrived.
“We are now hunting to insinuate a unique blue Skoda Octavia traveling in chapel house domain on Friday night.
“Investigations led us to have the car in the domain of theft between 5:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. and we want to identify anyone who has seen that car.”
“If you were in and had cameras in your car, we would ask you to check your photographs to see if you captured the vehicle in question.
“However, we are interested in hearing everyone who drove on Chapel House Drive between those moments, so if you were there, call us.
“Any information, however small, may be for the investigation of this crime.”
The 28-year-old arrested man remains in police custody.

Council-run gyms in North Tyneside are set to reopen next week.
The North Tyneside Council says it will “take a safety-oriented approach” when it reopens its gyms on Monday.
The Lakeside Center, Parks Center, Waves, Hadrian Leisure Center and Tynemouth Pool facility will welcome members for the first time since March, as a component of a slow reopening of recreation services.
Initially, only members will be able to return due to limited capacity, and some appliances have also been removed to create more areas for others to train safely.

A community cinema that started with just 19 other people watching a Gladiator screening, called the most productive small business in the country.
Jam Jar Cinema of Whitley Bay won first prize at the 2020 Small Awards, which celebrate small businesses in sectors across the UK.
Cinema opened in 2013 through moviegoers Dan Ellis, Stephen Fairly and William Smith, who used confessed “confusions” and a variety of economic tricks to open a small movie theater in a deserted construction on Whitley Bay’s Park Avenue.
The cinema, which expanded to adjacent assets last year to load two new screens, plans to reopen next Friday after closing the coronavirus outbreak for several months, with measures set to establish some social distance.

Detailed plans have been submitted for the progression of new homes south of Morpeth.
Bellway Homes approves of the reserved issues of a housing program in Netherton Park, east of the A1 between Stannington and Stannington Station Road, which is already generally authorized.
The site was once used for children’s housing and the proposed homes would be wrapped around Kyloe House’s secure unit, which remains operational, north and east.
Units called Kestrel and Kingfisher were closed and related administrative buildings became vacant after a review in July 2012.
