TOKYO – Nissan says it has developed a new way to generate high-tech auto parts that highlights the technical delicacy of the Japanese automaker, even when faced with a criminal trial in an ongoing scandal involving former President Carlos Ghosn.
Nissan Motor Co.said it had achieved a “big breakthrough” in carbon fiber reinforced plastic component molding, or CFRP, which is now used in race cars and jets due to its smooth weight and strength.
All the world’s largest automakers are working to increase the use of CFRP.The obstacles were the cost, which is approximately 10 times greater than that of steel, and the time it takes to mold the parts.
Executive Vice President Hideyuki Sakamoto said prFC portions will be used in serially produced game application cars in 4 or five years, thanks to a new casting procedure to melt the molten resin.
Load savings come from shortening production time from about 3 or 4 hours to just two minutes, Sakamoto said.A vehicle leaves Nissan’s meeting line every two minutes.
The weight of cars is to make eco-friendly models when emissions criteria are adjusted around the world, he said.
Nissan’s efforts are due to the large part of a car’s cargo coming from its production, not raw materials, said Junya Inoue, associate professor at the Institute of Industrial Sciences at the University of Tokyo.
But automakers have struggled with the loading and shape of CFRP parts, as well as creating a recycling formula for them, which is more complicated than with metals, Inoue said.Friday.

Nissan’s disorders are over because its monetary effects have been criticized through the coronavirus pandemic.
Global rating firm DBRS Morning Star said this week that Nissan’s line is aging, that its new models tend to be passenger cars with low profit margins, and that sales are suffering in the major North American market.after last year’s and previous year’s sales this year.
Nissan also faces monetary misconduct rates similar to Ghosn’s lack of compensation information, in a Tokyo lawsuit that opens on September 15.Greg Kelly, a former senior U.S. executive, is also being tried.Nissan has admitted his guilt, while Kelly claims to be innocent.
In brighter news, Nissan plans to present a new edition of its flagship Z sports model at approximately the same time.
