Nissan is likely to provide a rival Fortuner and Endeavour in 2018

Nissan is expected to present a new SUV with chassis in China next year, likely at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show in April. Nissan’s global car advertising director reportedly showed the same at the current Tokyo Motor Show. The SUV, which has not yet received its official call and will probably be called Paladin, is based on Nissan’s popular pickup truck, the Navara. The existing generation of vans was revealed in 2014 in Thailand.

The first SUV control mule founded by Nissan Navara was discovered more than a year ago in May 2016. At that time, the new SUV was founded on a ladder frame in its early stages of progression and used false frame parts. Recently, a symbol reported as the definitive style of production specifications appeared online. However, it remains to be noted whether the SUV shown in the photo will be the last edition or not. His face, however, resembles that of the Navara pickup truck.

The SUV will most likely share its interior with the van, with more advantages than the latter. This will be the same with engine options. The Navara is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.3-liter diesel in Europe and Australia in two states: a 160PS/403Nm edition that uses a one-stage turbocharger and a 190PS/450Nm that receives a two-stage turbocharger. The next SUV will most likely gain power from the same engine and also use the Navara’s 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed 4-wheel drive automatic transmission on the fly.

In neighboring markets, the Nissan Navara competes with the pick-up equivalents of the popular CHASSIS and body SUVs sold in India: the Toyota Hilux (Fortuner), the Ford Ranger (Everest / Endeavor), the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross (MU-X) and the Mitsubishi Triton (Pajero Sport). While we expect the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport logo to be presented here next year, all major rivals from Nissan’s upcoming SUV are already on sale in the country, with the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour being the two most popular options. As the segment continues to grow and the festival intensifies, it won’t be surprising that Nissan is launching the Navara-based SUV in the country with the goal of expanding its market share.

In addition, Nissan was expected to launch the X-Trail Hybrid, which debuted in India at the 2016 Auto Expo, as a flagship SUV this year. After presenting the X-Trail on its website, Nissan has now disposed of it, leading us to believe that the manufacturer is now reconsidering the launch of the X-Trail in India with higher hybrid taxes following the arrival of the GST. It is for the same explanation that Toyota stopped production of the Camry Hybrid in India. Instead of the X-Trail, Nissan can launch this imaginable SUV frame in a seven-seater chassis, as they are more popular in the country than monohest SUVs at similar prices.
