Next-Gen Dodge Charger: Leaked Factory Images: Gas Engine Will Survive

Dodge continues to build powerful cars despite the imminent death of the Charger and Challenger. We already knew that an electric edition of its Charger Daytona SRT concept was on the way, but now it looks like there will be an internal combustion engine edition as well. At least if some new factory photographs are to be believed.

Photos posted on the Challenger Talk and X forums show a white-clad structure of a powerful two-door car that is obviously a production edition of the Daytona SRT Concept. Interestingly, it looks like the car definitely has room for a transmission. and drive shaft. The engine bay is also obviously configured to accommodate a longitudinally fixed powertrain, which has long been speculated to be something of a flavor of Stellantis’ new inline-six “Hurricane,” or even a V8 in the higher-end editions.

Dodge remains wary of what the next generation of its powerful cars will look like. Of course, the four-digit electric transmission was the most sensible when the concept was revealed, but that’s simply because none of Stellantis’ North American brands currently sell. BEV in the EE. UU. Se has speculated that an ICE edition of the car is imaginable as it is based on the STLA Large platform that can be configured in either direction, but nothing official has been said.

These photographs are not official confirmation that any of the streams will be offered, of course, but they are quite damning. Yes, it’s true that the transmission tunnel is a bit shallow, but it’s conceivable that there’s high ground where the battery is located in the BEV. versions of the car, and the driveshaft goes through it. In other words, there deserves to be a giant piece of plastic trim underneath the vehicle that will likely cover much of the vehicle’s foundation, whether it’s a mechanical detail or a bunch of batteries.

We reached out to Stellantis for more details on what this vehicle could be. We will update this article if we are told anything.
