Newcastle: Police stop alleged hit-and-run that injured three-year-old boy

Police arrested a robbed man suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run that injured a three-year-old boy.

Officers have yet to locate two men who were on the motorcycle at the time of the incident at Newcastle’s Fenham domain.

The child suffered damage to his arm and bruises on his body and had to be hospitalized after the collision shortly before 8:15 p. m. on June 20, police said.

Northumbria police added that the passenger was thrown from the motorcycle before he and the motorcyclist fled the scene.

Sgt. Dave Roberts said, “We are continuing our efforts to better understand the cases of this incident, in which a child was seriously injured.

“We are willing to listen to anyone who has data on the stolen motorcycle, as this can prove very important in our investigations.

“We would also like to thank those who have already stepped forward and contributed to the investigations. “

Police said the motorcycle was reported stolen from a street in Sunderland’s Wessington Way domain on May 11.

Officers added that anyone who has data about the vehicle from the time it was stolen to the date of the collision, contact them online or by calling 101.
