The redesigned Peugeot 208 will cost £20,400 in the UK, the logo has confirmed.
The supermini, which will be Europe’s best-selling car in 2022, has undergone a wide-ranging update that introduces two new hybrid powertrains, a more imposing appearance and a host of internal changes.
The two hybrid options, shared with the new Vauxhall Corsa, combine petrol engines with a six-speed automatic gearbox with a built-in 48V electric motor for total power outputs of 99 and 134 hp.
Electrified engines have higher torque at low revs and 15% better fuel efficiency. Peugeot claims to drive in natural electric mode more than 50% of the time in urban areas.
The 74bhp and 99bhp unassisted petrol sets remain in the range, mated to a five- and six-speed manual gearbox respectively. The hundred-hp diesel engine was discontinued.
The electric e-208 has a new 154-hp motor and a larger 51-kWh battery, extending the range to 248 miles between speeds. A speed of 20% to 80% takes less than 25 minutes at 100kW.
The 208’s exterior has been redesigned to align with the updated 508 and 2008, with a bolder three-hour light signature and wider grille. The rear light bar has in turn been adapted with three red lights. “claws” that extend across the entire width of the trunk.
Inside, the 10. 0-inch touchscreen, previously reserved for higher trim levels, is now standard, a high-definition panel limited to the Allure and GT models. The questionable design of the i-Cockpit board remains, with a small and unusually shaped guide wheel placed just below the tool group.
An improved suite of driver assistance features has been added to the supermini, possibly to ensure compliance with the EU’s new GSR2 safety standards, adding adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and lane-keeping assist. A 360-degree parking camera is also included. to be taken as an option.

Like the outgoing 208, 3 full grades are available: Active, Allure and GT. Active represents the access point to analog instruments.
The 208 is now cheaper, going from £20,610 for the entry-level 1. 2 Pueretech Active to £20,400. The updated e-208 starts at £32,400, which is £2445 less than the previous version.
Meanwhile, a top-of-the-range e-208 GT costs £36,250, £1,835 less than the Vauxhall Corsa Electric.
Why would a personal customer order 20,5,000 horsepower for the low-horsepower 74-hp edition when, for 5% more, you get the hundred-hp edition with additional equipment?

Absolutely, I still prefer the Corsa, the new comic façade looks like it would be designed by Halfords.
