Do not worry. Yes, this position is very different today. In fact, after nearly a decade online, we’re excited to introduce thedrive. com’s next-generation styling, our new logo, and the first complete redesign of its community-friendly automotive site. Accueillir. I’m very happy here.
First of all, I must admit that some of you reading this are probably bored. An update of this scale is an adjustment, and as imperfect as our old site was, we were all used to it. It worked, for the most part. Functional and durable, like a Ford Econoline. But this is a great update, and as a reader, I often don’t like the drastic changes that are made to my favorite sites on the internet.
That said, we’ve spent months working on a new logo look that takes us into this decade, and I think we understand why it’s such a huge improvement. First of all, I should mention our new homepage, which has been completely destroyed and rebuilt around what you love most: a simple, opposite story flow on a timeline. No more squares. We want thedrive. com to be a place where it’s a breeze to browse today’s posts, catch up on what you’ve been missing, and locate our latest must-read story.
You can see that the design of our article has been redesigned, from the name remedy to the font and position on the screen. We also have a separate new design for our car reviews and features, with larger photo processing and other cool features. Improvements. Our homepage and stories are where 90% of people spend all their time, however, if you go further, you’ll notice new and advanced theme pages, product review pages, an increased search function, and much more.
Under the hood, we’ve moved the site to a new platform with logo, which will be less difficult to modify, fix, and continue from here. It deserves to load faster, scroll more easily, and sometimes be more enjoyable to use.
Now, I wish to point out that with a task of this magnitude, there are likely to be some insects today. Some things still need to be taken care of. You’ll see things this perfect. But I also want to emphasize that for us, this is surely not the end. We have a long list of tweaks and updates that we will be implementing in the coming days and weeks.
In the meantime, let us know what you like, what you hate, and what you need to watch from here. Participate in comments or email feedback@thedrive. com. I promise we’ll read each and every response, because at the end of the day, we’re doing this for you. It’s a radical replacement: our old site was born out of necessity. Time Inc needed to create an online page when they bought the YouTube channel, so they improvised one. It was not done with an audience in mind, because there was not yet one.
Almost a decade later, the audience is very huge and this new site was born from our project to serve them. For the love of the little corner of the internet that we have built together. And with the vision that this chronicle of car culture deserves to see some other decade of success.
We’re going to do that.
