The Washington Nationals decided on the contract of right pitcher Dakota Bacus and right pitcher Ryne Harper in Election Practice (Fredericksburg) on Friday. National Baseball Operations President and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

Bacus, 29, joins the active roster for the first time in his career and will make his major league debut with his first appearance. In 8 minor league seasons at the start of the 2020 campaign, Bacus was 42-25 with 28 saves and 3.53 MPM in 225 games (609.2 IP). He spent the 2019 season high with Triple-A Fresno, with a 5-5 record with nine saves, 3.58 MPM and 52 strikeouts in 46 games. His nine stops tied for fourth place among national workers.

Bacus participated in his first spring educational consultation in the major leagues in 2020 after an eight-year professional career that began deciding through the Oakland Athletics in the ninth circular of the 2012 Indiana State University freshman draft. He originally acquired through the Oakland Nationals in exchange for current Washington Open Receiver Kurt Suzuki on August 23, 2013 and re-signed with the Nationals after the 2019 season.

Harper, 31, played 8 for Washington in 2020, 1-0 with 9.00 MPM along the way.
