NAMM 2024: Why bring a new guitar amp to the show when you can debut three? British brand Victory Amplifiers has been busy and now has The Deputy, MK Clean and MK Overdrive to show us. Spoiler: two of these tube amps are just under $5,000 each.
First, let’s start with the most accessible; The Deputy is a collaboration between Martin Kidd and Andertons presenter Pete Honore, inspired by the latter’s extensive experience with amps in his current work and past as a pro session musician.
“So, after tons of amazing amps over the last few years, and then taking and adding everything I thought was necessary or missing, I had the immense excitement of being involved with magician Martin Kidd and the amazing guys at Victory Amps. Honoré wrote on Instagram revealing the news.
The Adjoint is a compact 25-watt single-channel tube amplifier designed to hopefully transition from the empty sounds of ’60s blues to the vintage rock of the ’60s and early ’70s. Three-way, smooth switching and built-in reverb loading functions for players, with a wooden case offering a touch of visual class loading.
MK Clean and MK Ovderive are offers from Victory, with MK status for Martin Kidd; This time it’s personal.
This is a pair of handmade tube amps that constitute the most productive of Martin’s craftsmanship and know-how, founded on an undeniable yet ambitious project statement: “To build the most productive single-channel blank amp and the most productive multi-channel saturated amplifier ever created. “created. ” It took 4 years, even without commitment. There is no doubt that the effects are worth it.
