MPs: Dryden arrested by CFA after hit-and-run car crash

A two-vehicle collision in Tompkins County turned into a vehicle search on Dec. 22, resulting in Dryden’s arrest for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene.

At approximately 5:30 p. m. , Tompkins County sheriff’s deputies headed to East Shore Drive and Autumn Ridge in the city of Lansing following reports of a hit-and-run.

Initial investigations indicate that one of the affected vehicles had fled the scene of the accident.

Holly G. Conklin, 58, of Dryden, was later apprehended by deputies as the driver of the absconding vehicle.

Further investigations led to the discovery of Conklin’s intoxication at the time of the incident. She is facing DWI charges, left the scene by a twist of fate, and failed to yield the right-of-way.

Conklin was released on fines and is scheduled to appear in court in Lansing City on Jan. 18.
