Motorhog has spoken after 900 cars broke into a devastating chimney at one of its sites in Yorkshire over the weekend.
Firefighters were called to the chimney scene at the Bentley Moor Lane used car dealership in Doncaster, just before 10 p.m. on July 31.
He destroyed absolutely a lot of cars in it and in its heyday summoned 40 firefighters to fight the flames.
However, Motorhog’s owner, SYNETIQ, said they were satisfied that no one was injured and that the buildings did not break in the fire.
Help had to be sent from West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire to help put the chimney underneath and a South Yorkshire Police drone was also brought in to help.
An investigation into the cause of the chimney has been initiated through South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
A SYNETIQ spokesman said: “We can verify that there is a chimney on our Bentley Moor Lane site on Friday, July 31.
“This destroyed several SYNETIQ vehicles, but we are grateful that no one was injured and that our buildings were not affected.
“The Fire Service Incident Controller praised the efforts of the in-house emergency reaction team, our emergency preparedness procedures, and the efforts of our groups that worked with their team overnight.
“The cause of the chimney will be displayed once the investigation is complete.
“The chimney was controlled in 4 hours, and there was no negative effect on the environment on the wastewater runoff of our oil interceptor, etc., which prevents it from entering the currents.
“Needless to say, all those cars had been completely clear.”
Tom Rumboll, executive chairman of SYNETIQ, said: “We were touched by the efforts of our workers that night and the fear shared by their friends and family.
“The firefighters were wonderful and helped us get the incident involved as temporarily as possible.”
The cause of the chimney is still known, but a full investigation is underway.
