Motorcyclist, 53, after running over and running on Joy Road

Detroit – A 53-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after being discovered thirty yards from his motorcycle after a hit-and-run accident early Thursday morning on Detroit’s west side.

Police said the turn of fate occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Joy Road in Alpine, west of Livernois.

Police arrived to locate a 1999 yellow Honda motorcycle at the intersection. The victim discovered her about 30 yards from her bike.

Doctors moved him to the hospital and he’s in one condition.

Watch the vehicle that hit the motorcycle and then head west on Joy Road toward Wyoming, but it doesn’t have a description to offer.

According to Michigan Traffic Crash Facts, a state police production, motorcycles were affected by just 1% of all road injuries in the state last year. In the Detroit metro area, they were worried about less than a share of injuries.
