From Ducati and Royal Enfield updating their bikes, to BMW presenting a bike stand-alone bike, it has been a busy week in the world of motorcycles. Here’s everything you want to know.
Ducati Scrambler 800 updated
After launching the Scrambler 1100 on our shores, Ducati updated the smaller Scrambler 800 this week. The entry-level Scrambler now has much-needed electronic aids and a sophisticated design review. The first includes the addition of DRL LEDs, automatic cancellation indicators, ABS turn, hydraulic clutch and more, while the second includes a new paint scheme, a more powerful design and aluminum-looking tank panels.
Royal Enfield Classic 500 wins ABS
True to the promise of upgrading all its diversity with ABS, the Chennai-based manufacturer has updated the Classic 500 with the must-have protection feature. Now priced at Rs 2.02 lakh, the motorcycle is 15,000 more expensive compared to the ABS-free model. Apart from the ABS, the Classic 500 remains unchanged.
Vespa and Suzuki announce festive offers
As the holiday season approaches rapidly, many automakers have begun to offer a variety of discounts on their wallets. Two of them who get in the car are Suzuki and Aprilia. From September 10, 2018 to September 30, 2018, Suzuki offers guaranteed costs on each and every two-wheeled vehicle acquisition as a component of the Gold Rush offering. On the other hand, Piaggio India offers benefits worth Rs 10,000 until the end of October 2018.
Presented the BMW G 310RR Supersport
If you think the BMW G 310 R is too docile for your taste, well BMW heard it, a guess. The Bavarian motorcyclist recently introduced a BMW G 310RR Supersport with race specifications at the BMW Motorrad Days event in Japan. Take a look and you’ll notice the similarities to the track edition of the company’s BMW S1000RR: the HP4 Race. At the front of the design, it has a sophisticated beak at the front and gill-shaped openings on the side to publicize aerodynamics. Then there are those fake headlights that do it more in a position than ever before.
Um Renegade Duty Ace And And S launch is delayed
We have some bad news for UM Motorcycles fans. The company has announced that renegade Duty Ace and S will now be introduced in India in the first quarter of 2019. The explanation of why this delay is due to the government’s mandate to equip motorcycles with a capacity greater than 125 cm3 with ABS. As you can guess, equipping ABS motorcycles is not an easy task and that is probably what is causing stagnation in the production process.
Introducing the BMW Bmw autonomous motorcycle
If you had trouble believing in self-driving cars, how about a self-driving motorcycle? Yes, you read that right. The other people in BMW’s engineering branch have designed a prototype concept, which can mount the motorcycle without any driver intervention. In the media demonstration, BMW brought this generation supplied in the R 1200 GS. The motorcycle was able to start on its own, recognize the turns and even brake if necessary. Sounds scary, doesn’t it?
