MotoGP insight: Get ready for Acosta!

The MotoGP paddock is on high alert after the arrival of The Next Big Thing in the premier class. . . Pedro Acosta.

The 19-year-old has won both Moto3 and Moto2 titles in his three-year Grand Prix career and looked great in the GASGAS Tech3 RC16 when he made his debut in Valencia.

MCN spoke to Acosta ahead of the FIM Awards in Liverpool earlier this month.

“I was amazed by the bike, how to steer it, the movements, how to push to brake. . . everything came naturally,” Acosta told MCN when asked about the MotoGP test in Valencia.

It’s a warning to MotoGP regulars that it probably won’t take long for Acosta to catch up. One thing that obviously stands out from the event is the importance of Acosta to KTM’s MotoGP project, with several factory employees joining the Tech3 team to surround the youngster.
