Chrysler is recalling more than 330,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles due to a flywheel problem that could cause drivers to lose the vehicle.
The recall affects 338,238 2021-2023 Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee L and 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles.
The automaker says in documents released Tuesday through the U. S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is not a major driver of the virus. The U. S. Department of Homeland Security has found that the upper arm ball joint and axle loader can separate and cause the wheel to fall outward, which can cause the vehicle to lose and increase the risk of an accident.
Owners of affected cars will be able to stop at dealerships to have their upper arm pressure bolts replaced free of charge.
