Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation Awards $2 Million for Technology and Empowerment of Youth with Disabilities

The Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation (MEAF) announced $2 million in new grants and $615,000 in ongoing projects. The investment supports MEAF’s New Access to Tech Careers and Trades Inclusion Initiative, which aims to enable young people with disabilities to lead productive lives through increased employment.

“Our Tech Career Access and Trades Inclusion initiative builds on the good fortune we had last year working with our grantees and industry associations to mirror the style of disability employment systems and create a pipeline of professional skills to high-demand careers. “This is the first year that the annual MEAF grant exceeds $2 million. We are excited to see the expansion of employment for other people with disabilities towards a more inclusive society,” Webb concludes.

The $2. 6 million in MEAF grants to 24 organizations will be distributed over the next two years. MEAF will also allocate up to $320,000 in worker donations in 2024 to build inclusive and sustainable communities in the United States.
