HOLMES TOWNSHIP — A motorcyclist missing since Saturday was discovered dead, the victim of a motorcycle accident, according to the Menominee County Sheriff’s Department. Steven T. Stauch, 58, of Powers, had not been heard from since he left his domain business Faithorn on Saturday, Aug. 3. The sheriff’s branch reported him missing Monday morning.
MEPs searched Stauch’s cell phone for domain location information to identify spaces of interest. While the search was ongoing, Menominee County 911 was notified of the scene of an accident along County Road 577 in Holmes Township of Menominee County. They located a motorcycle and Stauch, who was dead.
The Sheriff’s Office assisted through investigators from the Michigan State Police – Iron Mountain Post, special assistants from the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office Property Inspection Unit, Victim Services Unit and County 911 of Menominee.
The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information similar to this traffic death is asked to contact the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office at 906-863-4441.
