Mini is turning green
The compact car logo abandons diesel and multiplies electric cars.
Mini-Berlin consumers can now opt for an all-electric style for $59,990 the steering wheel, while the larger Mini Countryman Hybrid combines gas and electric power for around $63,000 the steering wheel. This makes the hybrid the most productive relative price from our point of view, as it is a broader and more practical proposal with little additional expense.
The official fuel price of the plug-in hybrid is a remarkable 2.5 L / 100 km, but that does not translate into the real world. As with all cars of this type, it will virtually not use fuel for short trips, but it will burn fuel at an overall rate once the battery runs out.
He claimed a fuel intake of only 2.5 L/one hundred km.
It’s a car.
Everyone knows what a Mini is, and car enthusiasts will probably know that the Countryman is the Mini’s solution to the high-level crossover trend.
So we have a hybrid edition of the SUV. Pretty easy, isn’t it?
It’s a plug-in hybrid, combining a hundred kW, 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that drives the front wheels with a 65 kW electric engine on the rear axle. This is a similar arrangement to BMW’s roadster i8, at a fraction of the cost.
It has the configuration as the BMW i8 now discontinued.
A small battery (by electric car standards) of 7.6 kWh allows you to connect the Mini to a power outlet and rate the car from the grid.
This gives you about 40 kilometers of electric driving at speeds of up to 125 km/h while driving only the rear wheels, unless you activate the throttle and turn on the front wheel gasoline engine to provide maximum acceleration.
There’s more to it than the engine
Countryman consumers enjoy an original and old-fashioned flavor inside and out, as well as a wealth of technologies such as LED lights, smart keys, an electric tailgate, two-zone air conditioning and an 8.8-inch central touchscreen located on a circular center screen.

The quality of the fabrics used is one step above the classic markings, and it is very likely that eco-responsible types will get upset in the leather seats. There’s plenty of headroom at the back, but plenty of legroom, and the hybrid lacks a sliding rear seat discovered in other models.
It’s a laugh to drive
The Countryman is strangely fast in direct line, aided by intelligent all-wheel drive that allows you to make the dashboard at a hundred km/h in 6.8 seconds. But hybrid speed adds more than one hundred and fifty kilos to the weight of the popular Cooper Countryman, which blunts the experience.
The uncompromising suspension helps the “karting feeling” that Mini strives to achieve, at the expense of low-speed driving comfort. The heavy guide contributes to the feeling that the Countryman feels planted and forged on the road, where it gives a much more attractive delight than competing plug-in hybrids like the Mitsubishi Outlander.
One is just around the corner
Mini announced ongoing adjustments to The Countryman before this year, adding the abandonment of the diesel edition and the installation of a larger battery in the hybrid. The Countryman Hybrid 2021 will be smart for about 10 km more electric cars, meaning prospective buyers will expect the car updated or make a smart deal with existing stocks.
