MHI Compressor International Corp. wins contract with the Gulf Coast ammonia plant

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Compressor International Corp. (MCO-I), a leader in the design and manufacture of compressors, drive turbines, gearboxes and their control systems, will provide compression for the new Gulf Ammonia Coast (GCA) state. ammonia production plant in Texas City, USA.

The device will be purchased through Air Products, which will build and operate the facility in parallel with its largest investment in the U.S. Ever made. The ordered device includes two compressor exercises: an artificial fuel compressor exercise and an ammonia coolant compressor exercise. Compressors will be jointly built and tested through MHI Compressor Corporation at its Hiroshima plant in Japan and at the MCO-I plant in Houston. All trains must be packed at MCO-I.

The GCA ammonia plant will produce approximately 3,600 t/d of ammonia, making it the largest ammonia plant in the world once operational.
