Mercedes-Benz is recalling nearly 80,000 cars and SUVs, adding the 2021 to 2024 GLE, GLS, GLC and G-Class SUVs and the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, CLS and AMG GT cars. The fuel pump can cause cars to lose power while driving, which can lead to an accident.
Mercedes-Benz dealers will upgrade faulty fuel pumps free of charge. The automaker already recalled 143,000 cars and SUVs for one factor earlier this year.
There have been about 4,000 warranty claims and no injuries or injuries similar to this issue, according to documents provided through the automaker to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Recalled vehicles: 2021-2024 GLE, GLS, GLC, and G-Class SUVs and C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SL, CLS, and AMG GT cars, Maybach models, manufactured on or after August 1, 2021. March 31, 2023.
The problem: An internal component of the fuel pump is made of defective materials and could fail prematurely. If this happens, the vehicle’s engine will possibly stall while driving and the car will possibly lose power.
The fix: Mercedes-Benz dealerships will replace the faulty fuel pumps, free of charge.
