Mercedes-Benz is updating its iconic G-Class SUVs for the 2025 style year, adding electrification to both styles.
The G550 replaces its aging V8 engine with a new 48-volt turbocharged six-cylinder mild hybrid system, which reduces emissions by accelerating from a complete stop.
The G63, on the other hand, retains the V8 and adds the same 48-volt hybrid system.
Both models feature a higher internal and external generation, adding an adaptive cruise formula known as AMG Active Ride Control for the G63, a first for the G-Class.
Pricing for the SUVs is yet to be announced; The new Mercedes G-Class is expected to hit U. S. dealerships later this year.

The iconic boxy design of the G-Class is largely intact with this new redesign, however, Mercedes has added new design elements that recommend what the all-electric styling would look like.
Mercedes has unveiled a “near-production” concept of the electric EQG, but has yet to reveal a definitive product.
Common features of the G550 Hybrid include a new A-pillar trim, roof spoiler, and new insulating fabrics to improve aerodynamics and reduce road noise.
If you want to keep your V8, prefer to upgrade to the G63 for the 2025 design year.
This model is supplied with a 577-horsepower handmade V8 engine with a 48-volt hybrid electric system.
The tougher G63 also benefits from the G-Class’s first adaptive cruise formula with hydraulic roll stabilization and adjustable adaptive damping for more cornering agility.
The G550 offers expanded leather options, according to Mercedes. The interior also features sumptuous highlights such as circular air vents for air conditioning that mimic the shape of the rounded headlights that sandwich the silver chrome grille on the exterior.
Equipped with the new AMG Active Ride Control, the G63 is designed to tackle tough off-road conditions.
The formula improves wheel articulation, allowing the G63’s wheels to touch the ground on even the most asymmetrical surfaces.
The G63 gets an infotainment upgrade with the first MBUX for the G-Class.
In addition to more leather options, the G550’s interior can be upgraded with a package that includes ambience on the air vents and around the speakers.
The interior of the G550 also has two 11. 6-inch touchscreens, air-conditioned cup holders, and wireless charging for your phone.
Mercedes has yet to announce pricing for its two new G-Class SUVs, but existing models start at around $143,000.
Pricing will most likely be announced closer to the vehicle’s launch, with Mercedes aiming to bring the new G-Class to dealerships in the second half of this year.
