Meet Range Rover’s mid-size electric SUV with a sleek new look [Images]

Ahead of its official debut, Range Rover’s upcoming mid-size electric SUV has had a sleek new design. The smaller Range Rover EV is shaping up to be a possible rival to the Porsche Macan Electric. See the latest photos below.

Range Rover’s first electric SUV will finally arrive this year. At the end of October, the company said over 48,000 clients were already on the waitlist for its first EV.

Unlike the flagship vehicle, Range Rover’s mid-size SUV will be the first to use its new EMA platform. The smaller vehicle is expected to upgrade the Range Rover Velar.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) CEO Adrian Mardell showed the new EMA style would arrive last year, saying: “We’ll have the MLA BEV first, and the Range Rover BEV later next year. It’s the first vehicle out of EMAs. The EMA-based model is expected to arrive in spring 2026.

We first saw the mid-size electric SUV last summer when it was spotted being delivered to JLR’s Nurburgring testing grounds.

After new images of the EV testing surfaced from Autospy, we are getting a closer look at the upcoming model. Right off the bat, it’s clear that the electric version is an immediate upgrade over the current model with a sportier, coupe SUV-like design.

It’s possible that the elongated roofline will approach a third-row seating option, although this has yet to be confirmed. JLR also said that its new EMA platform will have visual and hands-free driver assistance and OTA updates.

It’s a bit like the Honda Prologue – more family friendly than the SUV in my opinion.

Range Rover’s next midsize SUV will compete with the electric Porsche Macan, which is already off to a smart start in sales. Porsche delivered more than 18,000 Macan electric vehicles last year after delivering the first at the end of September.
