Jaguar Land Rover’s new CEO has been, but who exactly is he?

Thierry Bolloré, the new leader of the Midlands auto giant, will upgrade Sir Ralf Speth.

The automaker will take the reins of the car brand, which has locations in Castle Bromwich, Solihull and Wolverhampton, in September.

Bolloré took office on 10 September, after spending seven years at French car manufacturer Renault, adding terms as CEO and general manager until October last year.

Previously, he held several senior control positions at automotive equipment manufacturer Faurecia and tyre manufacturer Michelin, BusinessLive reports.

Bolloré said: “Jaguar Land Rover is known internationally for its unheard-of logo heritage, exquisite design and deep technical integrity.

“It will be a privilege to lead this company through what remains the most difficult time of our generation.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the team that continues to shape the long career of this iconic company.”

Jaguar Land Rover President Natarajan Chandrasekaran said: “I am extremely happy to welcome Thierry to Jaguar Land Rover.

“Thierry, an established global business leader with proven experience in implementing complex transformations, will bring a lot of fun to one of the most respected positions in the industry.”

Sir Ralf will take up the position of non-executive vice-chairman of Jaguar Land Rover.

Chandrasekaran added: “I would like to thank Ralf for a decade of remarkable vision and leadership and welcome him to his new non-executive position in addition to his current role on the Board of Directors of tata Sons.” C
