The McLaren 720S is no longer in production, but you can still buy the GT3-spec racing edition that has just been updated for the 2023 motorsport season and beyond.
Revealed on Wednesday, the updated car is called the 720S GT3 Evo and can be purchased as a new car or as an upgrade package for the existing 720S GT3.
Updates to the 720S GT3 concentrate on aerodynamics, with the front fascia and splitter featuring new designs aimed at expanding downforce levels. Police officers were also added in the corner of the front fairing.
Other visual changes come with new positions for the auxiliary lights, which McLaren says night visibility, as well as a rear wing that is less difficult to adjust and has a top Gurney fin.
The suspension was also reviewed. The front and rear upper transverse arms feature new designs, with the front now adjustable to tire control options. The front and rear pillars are also new, and new four-way adjustable surprise dampers from Öhlins have been added at each corner.
The car is powered by a modified edition of the 4. 0-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the 720S. Here, the engine is paired with a 6-speed sequential transmission of the street car’s 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The 720S GT3 Evo is likely the last edition of the 720S, as the supercar’s successor is expected to be unveiled in April. , a major upgrade to the 12C.
