McLaren stuns F1 rivals by launching 2024 ahead of record-breaking season before ever

McLAREN outperformed the rest of the F1 grid by being the first to unveil its livery for 2024.

The ambitious team of its rivals launching its car early for next season.

SunSport was invited to a top-secret event at the team’s MTC on Monday to get a look at the papaya orange and black colors that were officially unveiled at 5 p. m. on Tuesday.

The Woking-based team made a strong end to last season, with British driver Lando Norris scoring the second-most points in the second half of the season behind champion, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

This follows an ambitious new crusade on social media in which the team restarted its Instagram account, from scratch, to watch the new season.

Zak Brown, the team’s chief executive, said: “I feel confident. I think all the men and women at McLaren have done a job in the off-season. “

“It’s going to be an ongoing development, we’re not done yet, we’re just done with our launch car, but we’re looking forward to steady improvements throughout the year. “

“If the car looks spectacular, it’s a reaction to the feedback we get from our fans.

“Obviously papaya is very important to us so we want to make sure we’re distinctive.

“So when you see our car, you know it’s a McLaren. Obviously we have to keep closing the gap. “

“Last year we finished second or third in the fastest team on the track you’re on.

“The progression of the car has been solid, but Red Bull doesn’t seem to have evolved last year to the point where it could have if it had wanted to, so it can be an unpleasant wonder for all of us.

The new F1 season kicks off in Bahrain on Saturday 2 March, the first of a record-breaking 24-race calendar.
