Maserati’s first convertible GranCabrio since 2019 is expected to go on sale this summer in the U. S. A U. S. company with a top speed of about 200 miles per hour and likely a six-figure price tag that will get things done as well.

The sports car is found in the Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo sedan, which recently went on sale starting at $190,000 with the same 3. 0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. Both cars produce 542 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, according to the automaker.

Maserati, owned by Stellantis, said pricing for the convertible style will be announced when the vehicle becomes available to customers. Convertibles are more expensive than their hardtop counterparts.

The 2024 GranCabrio could help Maserati boost profits and sales this year. The Italian functional car maker posted an adjusted operating profit of €141 million, or $152. 9 million, in 2023, down 30% from a year earlier despite slight increases in cash. in and sales of the period.

The vehicle’s exterior, like that of its hardtop sibling, is less aggressive, with a smoother design and styling compared to the last generation.

The interior of the four-seater GranCabriolet, revealed online on Thursday, features sporty styling, sumptuous amenities and a host of virtual displays and gauges.

The car also includes an innovative “neck gaiter,” popular in the front driver and passenger seats for cooler temperatures. It works by blowing hot air from the seats at 3 degrees intensity, the company said.

The new GranCabriolet, first introduced as a model in 2009, may be the last petrol-powered edition of the well-known sunroof. Maserati plans to offer electric-only cars until 2028.

However, amid slower-than-expected EV sales, automakers have lagged or reduced their investments.
